CAMP LOCATIONS

PICTURED
  • The Arena:
Campers come here to practice with their swords and other weapons, such as daggers and spears. Somewhere in the arena is a large pen that a hellhound called Mrs. O'Leary calls her home.

  • The Armory:
The Armory is a large metal shed near Athena's cabin. In the armory are different sorts of weapons, including swords, shields, armor chestpieces, feathered helmets, spears, daggers, bows/arrows, and even more modern weapons like crossbows and guns, almost all made of Celestial Bronze. Each camper is allowed weapons that they may practice with and take on quests. It is usually the job of Athena cabin members to take new campers through the Armory to choose their weapons. Campers from the Hephaestus cabin often choose to make their own weapons and armor.

  • The Arts and Crafts Cabin:
This cabin is generally frequented by children of Aphrodite, Apollo, Athena, Iris, and Demeter. Arts and Crafts is not a mandatory activity at camp, but is definitely a prevalent one, especially among children of those less warlike gods.

  • The Ampitheater:
The main campfire is kept here. Sing-alongs are held here every night and are run by the Apollo cabin.

  • The Big House:
The Big House is a four-story blue house where all administrative functions of the camp happen. Chiron, the activities director, lives here. Inside, there's a large room with a ping-pong table that serves as a meeting space for the heads of each cabin. The camp store is located in one of the bigger rooms of the Big House - this is staffed by satyrs and nymphs and functions similarly to a convenience store. The basement is where camp officials stockpile nectar and ambrosia, which are used frequently in the infirmary/clinic, which is also located in the Big House.

  • The Climbing Wall:
Used for training sessions and has been known to magically create obstacles for campers using it, most notably lava.

  • The Cabins:
Where campers sleep and convene at camp. They're divided by godly parent, with one for each of them (with honorary houses for Artemis and Hera). Currently, the cabins form the Greek letter 'omega', but it's speculated that over time there will need to be another ring of cabins added for more gods. Cabins are expected each morning at 8AM by the cleaning harpies, and at the end of summer, part-time campers who do not vacate their cabins by noon will be eaten by the cleaning harpies.

  • The Dining Pavilion:
Where campers eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served at 8 AM, lunch is at 12:30, and dinner is at 6 PM. The food served at Camp Half Blood is a healthy diet. Food is often barbecued, and is served by the nymphs with various fruits, breads and cheeses - and goblets of drinks are magically filled with any drink, provided the camper speaks the drink they want into the goblet. Each god has a table, and it is expressly forbidden for campers to sit at a table that does not belong to his or her godly parent. Nymphs and satyrs may sit where they please, but often sit with Dionysus campers.

  • The Fireworks Beach:
Fireworks are launched on the shores at the start and end of every summer. Fireworks are made year-round by campers. Oftentimes, the fireworks show tells a story, particularly ones of Greek myths at the beginning and about things that happened at camp that summer at the end of summer.

  • The Forest:
Here is where capture-the-flag games are played by campers on Fridays from 7-9 PM. Capture the Flag is a great chance for campers to test their battle skills. Campers are divided into two teams, unless the camp is being visited by the Hunters of Artemis. In this case, the game is played Campers vs. Hunters, with Campers as Red and Hunters as Blue.

  • The Lake:
A lake in the middle of camp. Many nymphs live here, and it's a common hangout of Poseidon kids. If you're particularly interested in the latest gossip, you may catch some when the Aphrodite kids feel like tanning (which is often).

  • Long Island Sound:
The real-life body of water that Camp Half Blood borders. If one looks closely, they might be able to see hippocampi playing in the water.

  • The Stables: Here, horses and pegasi are kept and looked after at camp. Pegasus-riding lessons are often taught by Demeter and Aphrodite children. Students taking riding lessons of any kind are expected to provide their own tack.

  • The Strawberry Fields:
The 'cover name' for Camp Half Blood is Delphi Strawberry Service, a company which grows and ships the fruit to much of the tri-state area. It is tended to by the campers, particularly the children of Dionysus, and occasionally the children of Demeter. Satyrs enjoy playing reed-pipe tunes to the strawberries, as it causes them to grow juicier and magically more delicious.

  • Thalia's Pine Tree:
A large pine tree marking the entrance to Camp Half Blood and serving as a magical border to the camp. Once, this held the life-essence of Thalia, a daughter of Zeus, but as she has since been brought back to life, it now only marks the entrance to camp. It is protected by the Golden Fleece and a dragon called Peleus.

  • The Volleyball Courts:
Volleyball is one of the more popular mortal sports played at camp - so much so that the directors built a field specifically for it some time ago.

  • Zeyphyros Creek:
A creek running through the camp's forest. Many freshwater nymphs live here. Also a favorite hangout of Poseidon's kids.

  • Zeus's Fist:
A large rock in the middle of the forest. This used to be used as a flag location or meeting spot during Capture the Flag, but now many campers believe it to be cursed...

It looks like a pile of deer droppings, unless one looks at it from a very specific angle. If campers call it 'Poop Pile' or anything else like that, Zeus tends to get very angry...

NOT PICTURED
  • The Ant Hill:
A hill in the forest at camp. It's home to myrmekes, huge ants that like to hoard shiny objects, and if one manages to fend them off, there's lots of buried treasure inside the hill...

  • The Archery Field:
Here is where archery is practiced and taught at camp. Classes are taught by Chiron as well as the Apollo campers, and guest classes can be taught by Hunters of Artemis if they are visiting. Javelin throwing is also practiced here and taught by Ares campers.

  • Bunker 9:
An aircraft hangar sized bunker not too far away from Camp Half-Blood's main grounds, but still in its borders. Until recently, it hadn't been used for years, and many old projects and blueprints from past Hephaestus campers can be found here. The bunker can only be opened and sealed by using fire.
  • The Golden Apple Tree:
This tree provides the post-Ragnarok Norse Gods as well as people with Eitr of the Norse Gods with Idunn's Golden Apples, their source of sustenance and eternal youth. Without the Apples, they will feel weak and wither away. Until Idunn reveals herself in her new form, the tree is maintaine by watering it with nectar.
