CENTAURSCentaurs are a race of creatures that are half human, half horse. They are skilled at archery. Centaur blood is almost acidic in quality. Most centaurs are friendly to demigods. Almost all centaurs belong to a gang known as the Party Ponies, who are wild and love to throw raucous parties and drink root beer. Chiron, one of the directors at Camp Half-Blood, is a centaur - he is not, however, a Party Pony. |

CERBERUSCerberus is the three-headed hellhound that guards the gates of the Underworld. He is the father of all hellhounds and is easily distracted by rubber balls. |

CHIMERAA Chimera is a monster with the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and a snake tail. It can breathe fire, has venomous fangs, and can think on par with a human. |

CYCLOPSA Cyclops (pl. cyclopes) is a one-eyed giant. Most cyclopes were born to Poseidon. They are incredibly strong and feared by many for their hideous appearance. They have the ability to mimic voices down to the last note and can resist fire. Many cyclopes are hostile to demigods and would like to eat them, though some are friendly and work in Poseidon's forges under the sea. |

DRACANAEA dracaena (pl. dracaenae) is one of a race of all female monsters. They are half human, half snake, having two serpent tails instead of legs. They are hostile to demigods. |

DRAGONSA dragon is a large reptilian creature with tough scales and wings. It can breathe fire and is highly intelligent. Dragons often guard useful objects or riches. Dragons can either be friends or foes to demigods. A dragon that many campers will be familiar with is Peleus, the dragon that guards the Golden Fleece at the entrance to Camp Half-Blood. |

DRAKONSA drakon is a serpent-like creature with tough scales. They are Greek in origin and much older than dragons by several millenia. All drakons can paralyze with their sight and spit acidic venom. They are incredibly hard to kill. |

ECHIDNAEchidna is a dracaena and the mother of all monsters. Her favorite sons are the chimeras, and she keeps one on a leash with her at all times. |

EMPOUSAAn empousa (pl. empousai) is a beautiful female creature. They are humanoid with red hair and have two different sorts of legs - one is the leg of a donkey, and the other is a prosthetic Celestial bronze leg. They use their great looks and seductive charm to win men over and then feed on their blood while the men are sleeping. |

FLESH-EATING HORSESWhat it says on the tin. Flesh-eating horses are carnivorous horses who eat human flesh. |

FLESH-EATING SHEEPAnother obvious one. Flesh-eating sheep are carnivorous sheep who guard the Golden Fleece. They are currently owned by the cyclops Polyphemus. |

THE FURIESThe Furies are three female creatures - Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone - who represent vengeance in Greek Myth. They have leathery wings and skin, sharp teeth and claws, and carry flaming whips. They are said to be servants of Hades. |

THE GORGONSThe Gorgons are another set of three female creatures - Euryale, Medusa, and Stheno. They have snakes for hair and can freeze people with a gaze. Blood from the right side of their body is all curing, but blood from their left is poisonous. |

GRYPHONA Gryphon is a animal with the torso and legs of a panther and the face and wings of an eagle. They are high-speed flyers and lay golden eggs. In Egyptian mythology, gryphons are animals sacred to Horus. They will obey those who follow the Path of Horus. They are twice the size of a normal lion, and have reddish-gold fur. Their tails are weapons, and are easily able to break stones. The tail feathers are similar to daggers. When a gryphon flies, they beat their wings so fast they are a blur - similar to hummingbirds. |

HARPIESHarpies are female winged air nymphs that can often be found stealing things. They work at Camp Half-Blood, cleaning cabins as well as dishes and as guards who eat campers out of their beds at nights. Harpies refer to themselves in the third person and are immune to fire and lava. |

HEKATONKHEIRESThe Hekatonkheires are giants with one hundred hands. They are brothers to the Cyclopes and are gods of sea storms. The only current living hekatonkheire is Briares, who is friendly to demigods. |

HELLHOUNDSHellhounds are monsters from the Underworld who take the form of dogs. They can range from the size of a grizzly bear to the size of a garbage truck, and are generally not friendly to demigods - currently, the only friendly one is named Mrs. O'Leary, Percy Jackson's pet, who resides at Camp Half-Blood. Hellhounds are capable of Shadow Travel - the ability to travel in shadow to create almost instantaneous real-time travel. |

HIPPOCAMPUSThe hippocampus (pl. hippocampi) are creatures with horse heads and front legs and with glittering fish tails. They work for the sea god Poseidon and are usually friendly to campers, particularly Poseidon's children, though they are noted for not being very intelligent. |

HYDRAHydra are terrifying monsters with multiple heads. They are impervious to magic and weapons - every time a hydra head is cut off, two new ones grow in its place. They can breathe fire and spit acid. The only way to defeat a hydra is to burn the stump of a head you cut off before two new ones can grow back. A great way to aggravate a hydra is to jump up onto its back. |

MERPEOPLEMerpeople (gendered: mermen, mermaids) are a race of half-human, half-fish creatures that live under the sea and serve Poseidon. Triton, Poseidon's son, is king of the merpeople - he has two fish tails instead of legs. They have shark-teeth and fight with tridents. They are mostly friendly to demigods, and have their own hero camp under the sea called Camp Fish-Blood. |

MINOTAURThe minotaur is a fearsome creature with the body of a man and the head of a bull. He was the first creature Percy Jackson faced on the way to Camp Half-Blood, and is currently reforming in Tartarus, waiting to strike again. |

NEMEAN LIONThe Nemean Lion is a powerful lion with golden fur and steel claws and teeth. It has impenetrable skin and defeating it was one of Hercules' Twelve Labors. When the Nemean Lion is killed, its pelt may be worn as victory - currently it takes the form of a large fur coat. It is reforming in Tartarus and may terrorize another city in the near future. |

NYMPHNymphs are female nature spirits. They can reside in trees (dryads), plants (anthousai, epimeledes), rocks (oreads), the air (aurae, harpies), water (naiads in freshwater and nereids in saltwater), and the clouds (nebulae). They are generally friendly to demigods unless instructed by their ruler (Demeter, Dionysus, Poseidon, or Aeolus) to act otherwise. |

OPHIOTAURUSThe ophiotaurus is a feared undersea creature with the head of a cow and the body of a serpent. If it was killed and burned, it could take down the gods. The current ophiotaurus is named Bessie and is safe in an aquarium on Olympus. |

PEGASUSA pegasus (pl. pegasi) is a winged horse and the offspring of Pegasus, friend of the hero Bellorophon and the god Zeus. Pegasi are friendly, loyal animals that are rode at Camp Half-Blood. |

SATYRSatyrs are a race of all-male creatures that are half human, half goat. They have horns on their head and curly hair, as well as beards. They served the nature god Pan until he died. Currently, satyrs serve the new Lord of the Wild, Grover Underwood. Satyrs are known for having above average hearing and vision, being able to sense and do nature magic with their reed pipes, being able to empathetically understand human and demigod emotion, and eating anything including recyclables. Most Satyrs are Searchers, who go out into the world and find demigods to bring to Camp Half-Blood. Oftentimes, a camper's male best friend at home was a Searcher. |

SERPOPARDSerpopards, or longnecks, are controlled creatures of chaos. They are half serpent and half leopard -- the body of a leopard and the neck and head of a serpent. Their necks are elongated and scaly necks. They possess a forked tongue and can spit poison. |

SIRENSirens are sea-nymphs who are humanoid with bird wings. They have powerful voices they use for evil and often lure sailors to their deaths through beautiful, irresistable song. Sirens have the ability to shapeshift and gain the faces of people close to their listeners to lull victims into a false sense of security. They also have the ability to reveal to demigods their Fatal Flaw, the trait that will bring their downfall. |

SPHINXA sphinx is a creature with the head of a woman and the body of a lion. Sphinxes are the masters of riddle and often present their prey with a deal - if the prey can solve their riddle, the sphinx will not eat them. (Interesting to note, sphinx are allies to Egyptian magicians.) |

STYMPHALIAN BIRDSStymphalian birds are a species of birds that look like overgrown pigeons. They are monsters with Celestial bronze beaks and feathers they can use as projectile weapons. Stymphalian birds can only be killed with bows and arrows. They are often confused by loud music or raucous behavior. |

TELEKHINESTelekhines are sea demons who invented the art of metalworking. They have the faces of dogs and the bodies of seals. Telekhines often misuse magic for evil and are malicious to demigods. |

TJESU HERUA Tjesu heru is an Egyptian monster, resembling a snake with two heads, one of which is on its tail, and dragon legs. It is poisonous, and can be destroyed with magic. |

URAEUSA winged cobra that breathes fire. They are creatures of Ra. Though they took part in the Battle of Brooklyn House on Vladmir Menshikov's side, at the Sun God's awakening, the creatures hailed the sun boat and stopped fighting against Brooklyn House. |
